It’s uh, hump-day. Which means there’s no better time to do a linky-post, and share some love with all sorts of readable things — starting with a collection of local blogs marking Jack Layton’s passing from a variety of perspectives. As always, feel free to share your favourite blog discoveries (local, national, international) in the comments. ON JACK LAYTON + Cherenkov: “His death is no more or less tragic than any other, but it has great significance to the country on a political level.” + John Dobbin: “We will need to know the health of our political leaders.” + West End [...click for more...]
Today’s post is brought to you by the five-day-kitten I got to hold over the weekend (those are not my hands in the picture). Because look at it. It doesn’t even look like a thing. It just looks like a concept, like a teensy-tiny calico explosion of cute. Its cuteness cannot even be properly registered by the human brain. While you’re recovering from that stupendous creature of God — which was in attendance for Hull’s Haven Border Collie Rescue’s adopt-a-thon at a Polo Park-area pet store – I shall move on to tonight’s assemblage of interesting posts gleaned from here, there and everywhere, including some now somewhat-stale Twitter memes that everyone [...click for more...]
Ah-ha! Here we are once again, where I come bearing many links to share, with you, the people who stumbled in here and spilled coffee on your “back” button. Without further ado, may I present another installment of late-night linky-posts, wherein I share some linkies you may not yet have enjoyed. Wish I could have made it to Pecha Kucha or the Social Media Manitoba Tweetup tonight, but I appear to be coming down with a cold. So it’s just me, mint tea, and the blog tonight. Local + Ethan Cabel is doing great work for the Uniter, this time bustin’ [...click for more...]
Who doesn’t like a good linky-post? Nobody doesn’t like a good linky-post! So here is my first linky-post, because endlessly posting links on Twitter gets old to me. From me to you, a round-up of some of my must-read and must-see items from around the web this week: LOCAL + I love One Man Committee’s in-depth exploration of Princess Street. + We’re talking incarceration and crime up in hurr! I left a million-word comment, I’m sure James is thrilled. + Kenton Larsen was there when some Food Network guy totally bombed at a charity dinner, and it sounded sort [...click for more...]
Well, the promised Blog Love Sunday, which morphed into a Blog Love Monday, then was delayed to a BLT (my favourite), will now have to be a Blog Love Wednesday. First, a game: in my drafts folder, I have an 800-word Blog Love post drafted since Monday. But I am still unsatisfied with it and thus, not posting. The game? Guess which blog it was about! While that one awaits further review, I have my own little stumbleupon: Reserved At All Times. I hope he will forgive me yanking his header to illustrate my blog-love: Recently launched by Brandon photographer Colin Corneau, Reserved [...click for more...]
